Fable of The Four Friends Bhutan
In the monasteries (Dzongs) of Bhutan you will often find this wellknown fable (Thanka or Thangka) The Four harmonious Friends from Buddhism everywhere on the walls. In the national language of Bhutan, Dzongkha, the story is called Thuenpa puen shi which means cooperation, relation, four. The animals are an elephant, a monkey, a rabbit and a bird.
They need to work together to be able to pick fruit from a tree.
